Does anybody know what I will need to fit a 315 or a 35 on my 09 2500? level kit,a lift? Will going to an aftermarket rim make my life easier? these 265's gotta go man they look silly on this truck.
I ran 35's on both of my 3rd gen 2500's and had less problems without a lift. I tried a 2" leveling kit and it made the tires rub on the mud flaps because the tire was closer to the rear of the wheelwell. I took the levelers out and it didnt rub at all any more on the flaps.
I had stock wheels and they did rub a little on the lower control arms at full lock so i added a set of 3/8" wheel spacers and no more rub at all.
With an aftermarket wheel you will have to get as close to the factory offset as possible to not have issues.

Yes but it is hard to find in aftermarket wheels. Unless you get xd's or spend alot of money on them it seems like all the manufacturers want the wheels pushed way out and have a shallow backspacing. The incubus wheels i had on my 12 had a good combo of offset and width but i never had 35's on them to see how they fit. If i remember correctly the factory wheels are +43mm offset. And my incubus ones are a 9" wheel with a +21mm offset.
The trick is to not go over 11.50 wide or you will rub on the control arms. My buddy had a 2006 with 33x11.50 on stock rims on his HD and it looked great. If you don't want to mess with a lift or spacers that's the route I would go.
You can run these sizes with no issues on a stock height suspension. Tire under 35" forget the leveling kits the issue is the tire width not the height.
I've ran 35"s and now running 37x12.50 on my 06 2500 with 2 leveling kit, only rub is at full lock on lower control arms but that didnt bother me. thats with stock wheels

I have had no trouble of out my BFG's and they are load range D now I dont hual anything heavy in the back. I put almost 35,000 and not once had a problem with DW.

O and I'm running 315/70/R17 stock with just a slight rub on control arm at full lock.

I need to try to get some new center caps. The no caps have grown on me but.. might like them with them.
The tires are ok.. I had DW and it was my old steering. But the new coils I put in helped, that with the tires, tie rods, steering stab all played into it.
