You just drill a little hole and stick the sensor in. Maintain current distance and relationship from the throttle body.

Yea I have got to find a better way to mount mine as it's still rubbing a little notch into the conduit from the A/C line.

I even have a step by step for the 5.2-5.9.
I would do a burnout but I have brand new tires, I should have roasted the old ones, but they had a plug in them and wasn't sure how safe that would be.

Hi guys...noob here.

I just read on page 8 or so....that it will decrease your MPG?
Is this true? That is exactly what I do not want to do.
Please respond on new thread that I made for this...this one is getting long.

Im not bad mouthing anyone that has done this CAI but you all know that this is construction grade plastic that most of you are using. Ive seen guys bend this stuff with heat guns on the job site, it doesnt take much concentrated heat. And over a long period of time they will distort and reform when they cool. Just saying cause a few hav mentioned they have pulled away from the TB and wont go back right.

That's why if you use aluminum or steel tubing with rubber couplings this won't happen. If you insulate your pipe it probably wouldn't happen either. There might be different grades of plastic that are high temp. and that's what would work better if using PVC.

Your right if anything use the high temp, but not something you find at home depot! The gray pvc that most are using is for underground electrical conduit, not made for engine bay heat! Yes its cheap but not practical! If money is a issue try nolimitsmotorsports.com. I ran a 4in intake for less than 150 shipped to me in 4 days! just make your measurements and order your parts, And let my tell ya 4in is the way to go. This is what i ordered #1 22 degree elbow, #1 45 degree elbow, #2 4in couplers, #2 3.5 to 4in reducers and #1 24in piece of 4in tube. I had way extra straight tube left but always have plenty to change or add onto in the future. Ill get some pics up soon.

My only heat issue is that the rubber coupling (conduit to TB) has bonded with the paint on the conduit. My other issue is that the A/C line gets nice and cold and the intake rubs there which reduces the conduit to powder. And before you go tell me that temps just haven't gotten hot, I live in Houston, TX and ran this through traffic at 100+degF. Now one thing I have noticed is that my conduit was a bit thicker than what HD sells as I got mine from an electrical supply store...

Like i said im not bad mouthing anyone, but being in the trades ive seen how the elements can work on this stuff. And since you purchased yours else where you probably do have a better grade pvc.

I've had no issue with heat on mine and we've had some nasty hot days. Your design is very nice, but you are still using the constrictive airbox, lose it and put a filter on it.
