i just bought a 89 ram with a 318 thats running bad. the guy said it was a fresh rebuild thats been sitting for two years b/c he couldn't get it to run right after the rebuild so any help would be nice.
Need more info. Warm or cold, idle or under load, etc.
Also if it has been sitting for 2 years the fuel is probably stale and should be drained or if it's low, fill it up to dilute it. I would also flush (bleed) the brakes before driving it. (Brake fluid absorbs water over time.)
and i runs bad at idle(its missing and spitting and spattering) and under load it dies and it was running like this before he put it away b/c he couldn't figure out wats wrong with it
If it's been sitting for a while try unplugging the ECT sensor and starting it with fresh fuel.
