Have a 1999 Diesel Quad Cab 5.9...have the Hypertech PPIII installed...just this week my engine light came on and I ran the code finder and got the codes P0336 and P1693....the tach stopped working which made the engine light come on, but the tach started working again........Does anyone know where I can I find engine codes on-line, or what these codes mean and how I can fix the problem? :help:

CrazyCooter1978, how long did it take you to type all this in? Wow.

...and where are my manners?! Welcome to DodgeTalk.com, kg1216! Hope these two have helped you fix your problem!

I got the list from the Turbo Diesel Register. There is a master list over there in the 24v forum.

So what exactly does that mean on the 1693 code? DTC deteced in the PCM/ECM? I also have this code in mine and was thinking it was the overboost again.

#10 ·
Sounds like there was some sort of programming error when you used that Hypertech programmer. I would set it back to stock and see if the codes go away.

#11 ·
code 1693

I also have a 1693 code, it has been there for a year. I can not clear it with a super chip programer. It does not apear in the programer only in the odimeter reading. How can I get rid of it and what causes the code in the first place?

#12 ·
Probably the SuperChips Programmer. Return to stock program, and disconnect your battery for about 5 minutes. I bet when you hook it back up it disappears.
