Hello guys need some input on this, first a little background, This is a michigan truck lots of salt and brine put on the roads in winter. The truck is a 1994 2wd and is driven around town and used for short errands, No heavy loads I do pull a 16' aluminum boat to the lake and back, I think it weighs 1300lbs with the trailer., I've owned the truck 13 years it had 43,000 on it when I bought it and only put 40.000 miles on it so It has a grand total of 83.000. The ball joints were getting sloppy and the front springs sagging. So I replaced all four control arms, new firmer front springs, tie rod ends. pitman arm. all the happy horse sh#t under their pretty much call it all new. After putting in the lower control arms I went to install the sway bar and noticed the sway bar frame mount on the right side had some cracks around it, Right where it mounts on the frame, Well our salt and brine looks to have done it in, The Left side is solid as can be, And after beating the frame all over up and down the rails with a hammer it all appears solid, Except that belly area on the right wear the sway bar mounts, apparently it's collecting water in that belly. I have just read this is common on this year truck, I have been told it's not really a structural load bearing area,Except for the bumper fender etc . {Can I just remove the sway bar on this truck?** I would expect some sway in turns, but the firmer springs may help with that, not sure? {I rarely drive over 60 mph** It has been a good truck for me so far? I've only replaced the starter and water pump and done regular maintenance, Knock on wood. {I have not driven it yet** as I still need to get tires and a wheel alignment when I have the extra money, Can they even do an alignment without a sway bar?. Sooo Your Thoughts on this Issue Please. Thanks for your time!! Jaa
