I have finally hit 30k on my '02 4.7 and will be doing a small tune up. Already changed the PCV; filters, all fluids blah blah blah. I am now at changeing out the plugs. What is involved in pulling each individual coil off the plugs? Do they pull straight off? Twist off? I have been leary of trying it since this is the first truck I have owned where you can't just yank wires and be done with it. Thanks guys.
This is a fairly easy procedure but DO NOT OVER TORQUE ..., the heads are aluminum and you will be sorry. Make sure you blow out the holes before loosening the plugs. A compressed air can from a computer shop will do it.
If you have a torque wrench use it to tighten.., if not, tighten the plug and when it gives a little it means your compressing the plug seals Tighten a little more and that's IT!
It's Really Easy Man
They Just Pull Out
Just Do One At A Time
And From What I've Heard Don't Use Platnum
