2001 Rear Drum Brakes - Issue

2001 SLT quad Cab - 4.7L - Rear Drum Brakes -
Question - in the morning and/or if the truck is seating for a day/over night. When I drive the truck first time; When I use the brakes the rear brake slips or locks. I have to apply the brakes a couple of time before the issues stops. Can someone help me understand if its moisture or something else.. My concerns is if this happen some time while I am driving and cant stop. I will have a big problem..
