Dodge Challenger Hellcat gets 22 MPG Highway Rating

Official fuel economy ratings have been doled out for new 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat, pegging the car at 22 mpg on the highway.

To gain that 22 mpg rating, the car must be fit with the eight-speed automatic transmission. Paired with six-speed manual, the Challenger Hellcat is good for 21 mpg on the highway.

Fuel economy ratings for city driving have not yet been released by the company. We have reached out directly to the EPA to get them but did not receive confirmation by publication time.

Power in this car comes from a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that makes 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.

So far they are saying the manual is outpacing the auto in dealer orders... so that one MPG difference isn't influencing buyers too much apparently!

You don't buy this car for fuel economy, but it's nice to know that when you just want to cruise it will get decent fuel economy. I'd have a hard time choosing Challenger or Charger Hellcat if I had the money for one, but I love them both!

I'd go with the Challenger since it's just my wife and I, but if I had kids it would be the Charger.

It would be a tough choice. The Challenger has such huge doors and it's a little awkward to get in and out of there in a crowded parking lot. So the Charger wins on practicality, but the Challenger definitely wins on looks.

I just found this website that has a bunch of information about Dodge vehicles and what was really cool was that they had a ringtone download of the Hellcat. It sounds really cool on my phone. The website is www.moparserviceinfo.com

Fuel economy is not important when it comes to this model. In addition to incredibly powerful engine, the Hellcat at first glance differs significantly from the standard model Charger.

The front part with a special LED headlights and a new grille, as well as projections and the air intake on the hood of a symbolic hint that this is a general special car that "striking fear into the bones."

Also Charger SRT Hellcat equipped with a special 20-inch alloy wheels, which are mounted on Pirelli P Zero tires.
But all this makeup would be superfluous, that is not under the hood 6.2-liter V8 with 707 hp.

And who cares about fuel economy if you can afford a new 2016 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat?

If I could afford one of them... then I could afford two of them. I would get one of each. One for the family, and one for the wife on date night.
