Im annoyed. I bought my 02 Neon R/T With only a single key.
I have locked my keys in there multiple times.
Also I find it a problem needing to use my keys to open my trunk whats up with that?
I feel like im missing out on a fob or some secret.
If there is one how do you program it to your car?
If not.. How can I open my trunk with my car on!??
And does the key have a chip?
I(the wife) have an 02 Neon R/T as well (I used to have an 02 LE too), should have come with 2 keys when new. Up here what we do is we order a key off Ebay, have a locksmith cut it, then got to the cheapest dealership and have them program the chip for $35. If you go to a dealer for the whole deal it'll run $150-$200(up here anyhow)
Chip keys are grey, non-chip keys are black. And yes, you should have 2 fobs as well if yours has the remote entry. There's also a trunk pop button in the glove box.
Ive had a look in the glove box and did not see it, but Ill take a better look here soon.
Do you know how to program an FOB or how much it would cost?
Also for my car how many buttons should be on it? or can someone send me a link to a picture of one so I don't buy the wrong one?
Is what it looks like, no idea what programming would cost, really to program a key and remote takes all of 10min at a dealer, some have flat rates, some do hourly rate for 1/2 hour..
The trunk pop button should be top left of the glove box near the front of the box(close to the door)
