I have occasion, once in a while, to go into areas where it would be advantageous to drop tire pressure to be able to drive out instead of walk out. Being that the TPMS will harass me until I re-inflate the tires I figured I'd get some type of small 12 volt air compressor / tire pump to carry in the truck. Just wondering what kind you guys (or gals) use and if they really do a decent job without taking forever. Don't want to spend the weekly allowance on one but I don't want to go so cheap that it won't last or won't do the job. Thanks!
I've bought a half dozen cheap portable tire inflators that always crap out in the heat. I finally bought an ARB CKMP12 unit that comes in a toolbox so I can drag it between vehicles.
I've been using this one for a couple of years, from harbor freight about $65 but there are always coupons/discounts going on there, you can prob get at least 10% off almost anytime. Usually using it summer time on beaches, temps 85 & up, it does get hot, but fills fast. Comes in canvas carry case with some attachments for filling up blow up items. hose also screws onto valve stem so u dont have to sit there bending over, inline gauge.
I bought this one on amazon with the extension cord,VIAIR 85P Portable Air Compressor.$60 used it twice, fantastic,Its got 1500 reviews.Comes in a small carry bag, very compact.
