If you had it to do all over again would you have cranked your t-bars or just left them alone..

Just lift the bitch! started out with a leveling kit and waited till it was time for new tires again then pulled the trigger for the lift. I should have done it a long time ago.

Hey there, i have owned several dodge trucks over the years and just acquired a '98 rather cheap ($600) 4x4 that needed an engine which I have replaced with a $175 engine out of a '99 and just lucked out as it all came together and even tho truck sat several years it runs great, EXCEPT for the front end which had a clicking noise that went away quickly but when checking 4x4 the front end doesn't lock. besides my son who did all the heavy stuff for me uncapped the air, (which worked) and the usual clear coat problem this seems like it will be a really nice clean and straight truck so I really want to fix my front end. I am on disability do to several spine surgeries so taking this to the dealer and telling him to "fix it" is just not an option for me and i know nothing about these vacuum actuated front ends. I fear putting manual hub locks won't fix the problem as the issue is uphill from the hubs so any tips on where to start will be appreciated greatly.

turn the keys, you can get 1-2" without getting to bad on your tires

I've been tossing this idea on my truck but will definitely order the keys to do it with beforehand. This tire wear thing bothers me though, is this with or without aftermarket keys and is this before or after a front end alignment after the crank or key replacement? I'm not spending $200-300/per tire and then have them wear unevenly or have them worn completely out because of cranked torsion bars.

don't be cheap...cheap costs you more in the long run. buy the keys and get new shocks.

i cranked the original keys up got about 2'' taller and got an alignment no issues.

I went cheap just to level it off and I didn't have any problems but as said it's almost a waste of time and money so just pay up and do the lift.

I cranked the bars and replace shocks with longer Rancho on my 05.The final result was worn ball joints and tire wear.Never stayed aligned from that point.
I recently purchased 2014 and from what is posted here I think I'll leave this my 14 as is........
