New wheels, and 4.56's installed

Looks great man! How much of a difference did you feel with the gear change??

I only have 100 miles on the gears. I can only hope it offsets the larger/heavier wheel combination. My purpose is towing not performance. I had a race car them days are over for me.

Hey any update on the gears? Now that its been awhile just wanted to hear your thoughts on them as im contemplating 4.56's as well. Did you notice any difference in MPG?

I put about 550 miles on the truck since the gears. Trucks seems more high strung and more willing to get to it. I have 34" tires and at 65mph in OD(5th) im sitting at about 2K RPMs on the button. I never paid extra close attention to MPG before or after the swap but can tell you it went from terrible to terrible lol. The overhead read does show a drop in mpg if I reset it while on the highway doing 60 and travel a few miles then reset again and travel 65 for a few miles so for absolute sure mpg will take a hit from 60 to 65 and im sure it will take a slightly larger hit from 65 to 70. I did the wheels at the same time as the gears so even if I did record a drop the larger heavier wheels would take part in it. The Power Wagon comes from the factory with a 33" tire and the 4.56 so I know on the highway my cruising rpm will be just under what that trucks leaves the factory with. How much highway driving do you plan on doing with the truck? Personally I did the swap for the extra towing grunt there is a 2K pound tow rating difference from Dodge on my truck with a 3.73 vs 4.10.

I had the same catback on my 1500 and I loved it. Not too loud for normal driving but mash the pedal or drop her into 2nd, its a beautiful thing.

good choice going with the AAM gears,I have had mine about 5 years and they have been flawless..

I'm at about 1950 RPM's (ish) when going 70 mph with the OD on with 37" tires

GrayThunder thanks for the nice compliment. A side note on the Magnaflow catback I have since removed the very rear tail section after the rear axle. There was a little bit of drone inside the truck and the difference inside the truck now is amazing. The exhuast ends just over the top and over thhe rear axle now and is truly perfect. Anybody with this catback should give it a try you can always just put the rear section right back on again if you don't like it.

Hmm thx for the info.. I am doing mixed city/highway so not sure which way I'd like to go. I'd like more power on the hills etc but definitely don't want to take a hit on mpg since I'm at around 11/12 now.
