Fuel Mud Gripper M/T's.... Anyone using them?!

I'm going to be putting 22" fuel hostages on my 1500, but with 22's comes limited tire options in 35's. I'm pretty well set on Nitto trail grapplers, but my tire guy said he can get the Fuel Mud Grippersfor quite a bit cheaper... I was wanting to know if anyone has had a set and could give me a review (tread wear, noise, tire life) etc. on them, or if I should just stick with the nittos.
Thanks in advance! |

I've seen them but havn't read any reviews. They look a lot like Nitto Trail Grapplers. So much in fact that I wouldn't be surprised if Toyo-Nitto manufactures them.

That is absolutely the Toyo M/T tread design.
My guess is that either Toyo licensed the tread design to Fuel, or they straight-up make them under contract. Cooper does something similar for Discount Tire exclusive tire lines.

I've been looking into them, and found out that they're manufactured by Tri-Ace tire company, the same one that manufactures toyo's... I'm thinking of going ahead and trying them. If they burn out quickly, I guess it's oh well and lesson learned! And next time go with what you know.
Thanks guys! |

I will say they look nice in person. However, they don't look the same as the Toyo Open Country M/Ts because the two tires have different sidewalls. A customer was having a set of 37x13.50r17 installed on a Tundra when I was there having the shop do my lift and gears on my 2011 1500.
Since the shop had my truck, I was driving my jeep and I have 37x13.50r17 Toyo Open Country's on it. Out of curiosity I pulled my jeep up next to the Tundra and although the tread looks similar, the sidewall biters on the Fuel tires are not as big and beefy as the Toyo's. I like the look of the sidewall on the Toyo's better and I was also able to get close to 50k miles out of the set I had on my 2004 2500. With that being said, if the Fuel's are made by the same company maybe they'd have the same tread life as the Toyo's and may even be a bit cheaper. I couldn't imagine a tire manufacturer coming out with a similar looking tire and making it more expensive than what's already available.
