custom turbo 318 project!!

h1c came on earlier 12 valves. hx 35 came on 2nd gens. Basically the same charger.

You wouldn't have had any problems spooling an hx35. With a 5.9, you could spool a much larger charger.

I didn't know that our 5.2s could spin up an HX35, I have been looking around at some of what we have on the floor here and wondering just what I could do with some of the left over parts....

Shouldn't be an issue. Gasser rpms are incredible for that. They spool at 1300-1400rpm on a stock 5.9 diesel, so figure 2500rpm to get it moving on a gasser. My 66mm spooled like a supercharger on a 5.3. Different motor I know, but still same principles. My old hx35 spooled about 3k rpms on a 2.5L jap motor.

If you have that many extra parts, I need a 1.0 divided T4 exhaust housing for a 83mm turbine (borg warner) Seriously, I need one

If you have liberty to make random turbo configurations, pm me, I'd love to chat....

No I can't make random configs, I work at the assembly facility in Charleston, we build alot of turbos used on all kinds of different motors......

the last guy i talked to with a hx35 on his 5.0 stang didnt spool till 3500.
yes i know....ford... but not much smaller then mine. i didnt wanna take the chance.
i would like to get something a little bigger. get some more turbo whistle out of it.

Not needy, just jealous LOL

Was that 5.0 carb'd or EFI? What converter? There's a lot he probably didn't take into account.

And hx's are pretty much the same as h1c's, maybe even a little better spooling since they're like the updated model. At least you're setup now to swap in any T3 charger you want once you get bored with this one. And you will get bored LOL I see twins in your future.

i see a cummins in the future lol. then this will become the toy. and yes twins are possible.
i would almost rather go with a t4 flange. more options. easy to change out the flange

There are as many T3 options, they just cost a little more. T4 does flow more though. I think twin 63's would be awesome on your setup since you're not wanting anything too laggy.

Mike I can tell you that we have turbos laying all over the place, all kinds of sizes but they are all serial numbered and I do not carry a big enough lunch box to get one out the door...

who knows what the future holds for little yellow lol

I hate that crap.

Don't feel bad. I worked DoD and my cell phone couldn't take picture if I had it on my person. If it did, I would have to leave it out in my truck. There were parts of the building you couldn't have ANY type electrical anything. If you did getting fired was the least of your worries.
