Go with a Superchips programmer and a muffler swap. I'd also recommend doing a Magnaflow Y pipe, unless you want to do duals.

I can tell you a $2000 list a D and you'll eat SRT's all day.
Headers $600
Y pipe - $30
3" exhaust (with any straight through muffler) - $400
150 shot + tune - $850
intake - $120
Take some weight out of the D
So long as you or a friend do all the welding and the only thing you pay for is parts, beer, and a tune, it'll stay at $2k. And srt's will be scratching their heads.

Many will also suggest that if you are going to have a track truck, headers, cams, exhaust etc, will be on your list of mods. It all depends on what you want to do with your truck and how you want to mod it.

Be warned about 2-wheel dynos, may kill your transmission if you have AWD/ full time 4WD such as NV244.
