TPMS question

I am thinking about picking up a set of winter tires to toss on the 17s that my truck came with. Curious - what happens if I don't buy new TPMS sensors to put in these new tires?
Will the truck complain to me everytime I start it up? |

little yellow warning light on all the time" not flashing thank god" and a little chime at exactly 10 miles everytime you drive the truck then she is quiet.

I did it today - and the light stays off for about 10 miles, then flashes for about 30 seconds, then back off.
Kind of interesting and not what I expected. |
