Yea I have some slight rust on the drivers door and upon further inspection, I can see that it's just barely starting on the other three doors. Also have two tint little dots under the paint on my rear left fender. Right now I'm looking for a 2006 or 2007 Chrysler 300c HEMI AWD, but the AWD seems to be harder to find, so I might have to settle with 2WD.

The Durango's front suspension can't handle the weight of the Cummins and I doubt it would even fit...hell, the Hemi barely fits.

5.9L fits without a whole lot of modification, and especially with the 2in body lift you get loads more room. Also torsion bars are hella easy to replace to compensate for the added weight.

I guess you have a point... I might end up with 2wd anyways, so we'll see.

I like this idea, but as mentioned, I don't know if the D's front suspension can handle a CTD.

Still too nose heavy, the 5.9 weighs over 1k dry.

If you want the diesel option, you could do the 4BTA Cummins. Compared to the Hemi, it only weights about 80-pound difference.

not bad ideas but along with the diesel I would think you would need a new transmission along with a boat load of other things. I mean you are jumping up to 800 torque. Thats a whole lot more than the durango is built to handle. Plus lets be honest the new 2500 diesel ram just look soooo bad ass. so if im going to get a diesel engine its coming in a ram pickup truck haha

Well I ended up milling out my throttle body, replacing my flow master exhaust with a much higher flow magnaflow setup, I also streamlined the air intake for better flow, and I grounded the throttle body to the negative terminal of my battery. Next Ill get the H.O. cams and then Ill be done.

A custom tune is what it sounds like ... someone like Hemifever (Sean) works with you to create a tune that helps your truck run better. Most of the time, you don't need a custom tune. The 'can tune' will work just fine. But when you've added a-ton of add-on's equipment, plus a large cam(s), long tube header, BV cylinder heads, and more until the engine won't run unless someone reprograms the ECM/PCM values of the computer.

It's safe to say that if you do a cam swap that you will need a custom tune... either Diablosport CMR Dyno tune or SCT Tune... either one is gonna run you around $400+

Definitely do it along with the cam... the engine won't run right otherwise.
