Sitting on the oem 245's right now. Looking into getting a new set soon. I realized that these were the too sizes avail on our 2nd gens from the factory. I like the wider 265 tire, but my spare is 245/70/17 also.
What do you prefer? |

Timar:
Nice looking set of tires you ended up with! I had the same dilemma when I was looking to replace the oem 265 tires on my 04. My research into the two sizes found that the diameter was so close that they are all but the same. I also noted that ther are several more choices in the 245 size than the 265. In my case, I had 3 265's that were pretty well shot at ~62K. They were the Goodyear SRA tires. I came across a set of decent SRAs in the 245 size for $80 that I ran for 10K. I found no difference in my vehicle with the 245s. Cruising Ebay one evening, I found a new set of 5 Firestone Transforce AT tires in the 245 size, and have had them on now for ~3K. So far so good. Don
