Toy Hauler with 1500

Hey guys. I'm renting a 26' Eclipse Attitude 26fsak toy hauler in a couple of weekends. I was wondering if anyone had any experience towing something like this. I'll be going about 100 miles, nothing loaded just some clothes and food. Will my 1500 be able to handle it, or will it be a little too much? The guy at the rental place told me it was around 7,000 lbs unloaded, but I saw a couple of other numbers online. I can take my dad's 2500, but if mine can handle it I'd rather drive it.

I have a 2006 1500 QC 2wd 5.7L. I have some firestone air bags if that will help at all, not sure about my gears though.

As long as you hook it up properly, and it's within your allowed towable range, then it shouldn't be a problem. That's what these trucks were built to do.

I would check that total weight though. Remember to calculate your towable max too. The sticker is only for your truck, full tank of gas, a driver, and that's it.

To calculate your towable max, take the weight of everything else you are going to haul + the trailer + any passengers, and add them up. Then subtract from your towable max. If you end up with a negative number, it's too much trailer.

I had a 06 ram QC, 5.7 with the 3.92 gears and it was rated at 8750 lbs but the 3.55 gears was about a 1000 less. What gears are you running?

I don't know what gears I have. I bought the truck used so I'm not sure. It's a night runner edition if that changes anything?

Awesome, you should be good to go but like it was said to have a good hook up.
