I just got finished rebuilding and installing the 2.7 from my wifes 2003 Sebring. With the cam sensor plugged in, the engine won't even fire.. removed it purrs like a kitten. I installed an aftermarket timing set in the engine, and was told there is a difference in the windows/slots in the tone ring on the cam gear. Tonight I removed the cover and compared the new gear on the cam with the one I removed during the rebuild, and they appear to be identical so far as the position/count of the windows/slots are concerned. I went to a local Dodge/Chrysler dealer today about this, and they told me there was a split somewhere back around 2000/2001 and they changed out the pcm. I'm not getting any cam or crank sensor related codes, but the engine just won't run with the cam sensor plugged in.. Anybody know why I am having this issue? and will it require a new timing set to resolve the problem?
Thanks!
