Has anyone else had this problem?

My driver side door hinges that are welded to the door, are cracking, and deforming the door to the point that the door can't open/close anymore.

I'm hoping to get to my buddies house this weekend, unbolt door from the cab frame, and custom make some brackets for the hinge, and reinforce them, and fix it up.

Just curious if this is a common problem...

I had the same problem with my 96 Dakota but I caught it before it got to bad and i was able to weld it back to the truck. The thing that i found was to weld like 1/2 inch then wait 15 to 20 mins for the weld to completely cool then weld another 1/2 inch at a time. Good Luck

its somewhat common on dodges, my daytona was like this, very badly cracked had to do some major surgery, just put it back to were it should be and weld it up, it would be best to perhaps put a plate on the inside of the door to make it stronger

hinge is back together, and it was a LOT worse than I originally thought...

some seam welding, and a small reinforcement plate and everything was GTG
