We had our first heavy rainstorm since I bought my 06 2500 Mega Cab the other day. Well, today was the first time I drove the truck since then, and my wife noticed water coming out of the video system in the ceiling.
Well, there was a TON of water in it and in the baby seat base in the middle of the back seat. I am really ticked off! I didn't have a chance to see if the video system is fried. I hope it is because I don't want them telling me they won't replace it if it works. :VHOT: :VHOT: :VHOT:
I can't see where it leaks, but it could also be the Sirius antenna.
My wife has never driven it. I checked the sunshade, and there was no sign of water on it.
When I drove it yesterday, I first opened the windows and the sunroof to cool off the interior. Then I went inside to get the rest of the family. I have no reason to believe that the sunroof was left open because the last time I had driven it, it was in a light rain Monday afternoon. The heavy rain was on Tuesday but the truck was parked all day.
Unfortunately, the stealership has a leak specialist who only comes in on Wednesdays. I also need the truck for a trip this weekend. I will drop it off on Tuesday.

Same as my dealership. About 2 days after I got my truck I drove in the rain and water poured in the drivers grab handle. Next week after it was fixed it rained through the night, I get in my truck to go to work in the morning and the rear storage bins under the seat were completely filled with water. Told me to bring it in the next Tuesday. Seats were stained since water stains the seats and they did nothing.
Well, they said one of the drains for the sunroof was crushed. They had to pull the headliner, rear seat and a lot of other stuff to get to it. Even though the DVD player worked, they agreed to order a new one since it was filled with water.
It's raining today, so we'll see how it is when I get home.
I have an aftermarket sunroof and never had problems with leaks. My sunroof closes automatically after about 20 seconds after you turn off the truck. So I never forget and leave it open. And if I want to purposely leave it open, they I just touch the open/close button and it will stay open. I realize now its a great feature. I guess the factory roof doesn't auto close after a set time.
I have two '07 Ram 3500 with the sunroof and they have both leaked at the grab handle's top bolt hole on and off. Mostly only in the carwash. Both have been brought to the dealership and they say they can't recreate the problem, so they do f**k all about it.
This is for the 04 models, its a Technical Service Bulletin. But the same issue has been reported on various other years as well. Print it up and bring it in with you next time.
