We always enjoyed taking long trips with a Dodge Conversion Van.

From your knowledge what was the best conversion company on the market?

Hands down, the better quality is StarCraft. The company takes extra steps to protect the sheet metal body panels and the paint. Thus, the vehicles last longer. Ever see those conversion vans with rust along the wide conversion windows? StarCraft takes pride in preventing that.

My parents own a 1992 Ram Van conversion by StarCraft. We owned a 2000 Ram Van conversion by PrimeTime. The PrimeTime already rust out along the wide rear windows by 2008. The StarCraft is still solid.

The ride for most typically use the stock Ram Van suspension. If you are talking about the driver's captain's chair, then the StarCraft is very good.

Looked around for some Starcraft Dodge RAM Van conversions and they're very rare to find in Europe... Mark III, on the other hand, are almost everywhere. I remember seeing a Chevy G20 Van Mark III conversion recently that was as badly rusted under the rear windows as you described.

I wonder if there's any way to buy a Starcraft interior from USA and re-fit the van we already have since finding this conversion in Europe is so tricky.

Not too impressed with the Mark III conversion on my '98. The high-top joint is jammed against the driprail and the rubber sleeve in said joint is 4" too short.

I'm not sure if the seat frame is Mark III or just the cover, but the seat frame split in two as well. Welded it up and shoved it back in.

I don't know if they did Dodge conversions. but I had a 97 Ford with a "Glaval Universal" conversion. They have gone out of business since but it was pretty nice. My only complaint was the rear bench/bed seat motor or something was bad and you had to manually force it down.

It has HVAC vents in the ceiling so you could actuality get some AC/heat blowing on you in the rear. It also has a rear AC function as well with it's own evaporator, which was a seperate control blower wise from the front/Ford factory control as I recall.
