First off, I don't work for a Tire or Wheel company, so please take this for whatever its worth

There's an article in the Spring edition of 4X4 Garage magazine, and I'm passing on that information:

Hopefully others will also chime in with their results:

According to the article, for 2009 Ram 1500s:

31 x 10.5 will fit on a STOCK vehicle

33 x 12.5 will fit with a 2" Suspension Lift

35 x 12.5 will fit with a 4" Suspension Lift

37 x 12.5 will fit with a 6" Suspension Lift

Hope this helps

I have a set of 20x10 Ultra Baja Champs (-25 offset I think) wrapped in 305/50/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers.

They fit with NO problem at all on my 08 Reg Cab (stock suspension)...being that I just got rid of that truck and got a 2012 Ram 1500 QC, anyone know if these tires will fit the same as they did on my 08, or did something change in the last 4 years that MIGHT make my wheels/tires not fit or rub?

I just noticed he put the size in the subject line of the post. 35-12.50-17.

What about us 17" guys? Anybody know the offset on the 2011 SLT wheels and the biggest tire I could put on them. I believe they are 17x9".

Few questions.

How do you guys deal with the speedometer reading change when switching to taller tires? Can it be reprogrammed or calibrated?

Since my truck is a stock 2011 1500 4x4 that was 38.5" to top of wheel well in the rear and 35.5" in the front and I have installed only the Bilstein 5100 adjustable set to 2.1" would I be able to run 35x12.5x18 tires until I install a 4" lift? Or should I hold off until I install the lift?

I would like these wheels and tires to look good with the Bushwacker style fender flares, so sort of flush, just inside the flare. What offset do I get?

I'm using a super chips flashpaq to calibrate speedo etc

i have a 2012 1500 and my 33 x 12.5 fit with no rubbing at all with no level or lift

I need someone to make this very easy on me. I know my way around cars and trucks with the best of them, but I am wheel and tire retarded! What is the tallest tire I can fit with the TGC 2.5" level on the Express alloys. Width isn't as much a concern for me. I would like to get 35"...and if that means I have to go with a 10" instead of 12.5" then so be it.

35" will fit under any level/lift 2" and up...
I'd look at the 295s as I don't think 12.5" wide is a good idea on a 8" wide Express wheel though...

Non chrome? The 13 Express has the chrome sport wheels from last year I think. So I believe all the wheels are 9" wide. But even if 8" 305 would be the widest I'd go.
Which tires are you looking at? Toyo no longer makes the AT in 305/60/20 as that's what I have now. But the 295/60/20 Nitto is the same size actually. I think Wranglers also have a 305/60/20 though.
I just ordered a 4x4 sport crew 2013 and will go with Toyo AT 35x12.50x20 under a set of Bilstein 5100s set at 2.1"

Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting some BFG all terrain 305/65/17 for my 2012 outdoorsman. I just installed a daystar 2.5" leveling kit. Does anybody out there have a similar set-up? How does it look??? and more importantly, does it fit with no rubbing (without spacers) ??????

If your rims are the same width and spacing as mine on my 09 1500 with 17's and the suspension is the same which I think that all will be but not totally sure then I think you will need at least a 1/4 spacer. That's what I used and my tires spec'd almost 1/2 inch narrower than yours.

#71 ·
Ya i'm pretty sure the suspension and wheels specs are pretty much the same. Do you have any pics of your truck?? What kinda tires did you put on? I imagine the overall diameter must be bigger than stock- did you change settings in the computer? do you notice any difference?

285/65/20 BFG All Terrain Tires

Hey guys I am new to the forum. I have a 2012 Ram 1500 crew cab 4x4 with the stock 20x9 chrome clad wheels. I am wanting to put 285/65/20 BFG All Terrain tires on them, but am not sure if they will fit without wheel spacers. There is only 1/4 of an inch between the stock 275/60/20 tires and the upper A-arm on the front suspension. The 285/65/20 are 1/2" wider which will put 1/4" on inside and outside. I am afraid the inside of the tire will hit the A-arm. Can anyone give me a positive answer on this. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Just installed RCX 2.5" level and will be doing a 1.25" bbody lift soon. I according to RCX the largest tire I can go with is 35x12.5 with factory backspacing. Is there anyway I could fit 37's, maybe a bit narrower? Or spacers? Or offset?
