I got a checkengine light on my 98 1500 ram. Code was P1757 gov pressure. Is this a normal problem? reset the code and it has not returned for the last couple of days. Mabey a sensor problem? Any Ideas?
It could be the governor pressure sensor, governor, or both that can trigger the light. Watch for erratic shifting. If you take off from a dead stop and it feels liek it doesn't move well and then all of a sudden it feels liek it catches and goes then that is what is wrong with it. Cost me aound $450.00 when it happened to me. What it is doing as decribed above is starting out in 3rd gear.

Requested pressure and actual pressure are not within a tolerance band
for the Governor Control System which is used to regulate governor
pressure to control shifts for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear (zero-pressure
