You tellin' me the 360 came stock with 400 lb-ft of torque?? You are dreaming. The 360 came with 15 more hp and only 45 more lb-ft. Yeah, it'll tow soooo much more than the 318 and there's no way a NV3500 can handle that much roaring power. :WHT:

Looks like I was wrong, the 360 came w/245hp and 330 lb-ft tq.
the 318 came w/230hp and 300 lb-ft tq.
Hey, you ever screw up? I did!
But I was told that the 318 only had 230-240 lb-ft tq, guess they screwed up too! I wouldv'e never known, but now I have the internet so I can be smart and know everything(well, almost)!!!!
But I read an article about a guy who switched out his 318(backed by a NV3500) to a 380(380hp) crate motor w/no problems, so I think the NV3500 should handle the 30lb-ft, and 15hp w/no problems.

Well, not a ton. But I need to replace the rollpan and front grille(the little plastic clips on each side broke so its looking pretty ragged) , the shaved door handles are starting to rust where the weld is(poor prep), and its been keyed twice by two different girls( once on the pass side and once ALL THE WAY AROUND THE TRUCK)!!!! So I guess yah it does need some work, I've got a fiberglass cowl sitting down the body shop for three yrs now, so
I guess its time to put that on too!!! I'm waiting till begining of spring, and if this shop is too busy i'll be looking for another, I'm sick and tired of this guy telling me he's to busy for custom stuff(hence the fact the hood has been down there for 3 yrs)!! I didn't get that 86 dodge but this is mylist for the 97. I shouldv'e read more carefully, that 86 dodge didn't need any body work.

I hear that brother, talk about taking the breakin up hard, I also ended up w/2 brand new flat tires, but I couldn't prove it. One of these days i'll see her car sitting all by itself and then, welli'm not into incriminating myself but you get the picture. Well i'm off to get some more tattoos (man I think about what my truck could look like if I wasn't addicted to ink), got an appointment at 6:00 to go and spend some of that bodyshop $$$LOL. We'll be talking to you soon, have a good night.

Both are good motors. I have 150K on my 360. Still runs great.

318 and very happy with it. Still you can't add displacement, no matter what you do (except stroking it).

360

4x4 sport ext. cab 6 ft. 360 stock 18 to 19 mph at 60 to 65 mph, runs great, I would not trade for anything, except maybe an SRT.

318 in the 99 QC/SB 4x4

It does alright but it needs some exhaust work to make it breath a little better. Not going to complain over the 16-18 mpg though, I'll take that!

The 360 in the 72 HAULS. That truck is fast...

second grey bear's post

Mine is stock and it shifts at about 5100. The butt dyno says it pulls pretty well all the way past the rev limiter... I have forgotten to take it out of L1 when leaving my parents lake house in a trailer park and went out on the 55PMPH road...I usually put it in L1 so the old grannies and gramps don't yell at me for goin too fast.
