Well I just installed the REF radio out of a magnum/ram/300 that has the single cd and an AUX input jack on the front of the radio. I paid 31$ on EBAY and it took 10 min. to install it. Slides right in, light colors match. It is perfect. No FM modulator for me! While I don't the charging capability that the mopar ipod adapter allows, I already had the car charger, so it was better than spending 108 + shipping for the adapter.

If you do a search for dodge radio aux, or chrysler radio aux, or REF radio you should come up with some.

What type of radio comes in an 04 Durango Limited (w/6 CD changer)? I have seen references to radio models REC, RAZ, RB1, RBP, RBQ, RAH and RBK. Chrysler has come out with an iPod adaptor kit but it only works with one of these types of radios. Two types are available: 82210181 for the REC and other CAN BUS radios; 82209616AC for the others in the above list. The later model allows control of the iPod playlist via the radio controls. However, the info only says 2005+ model years. Mine is an 04.

the one thats cheaper should work with 04+ D's, it only gets sound and charges. It does not control. the cheapest place was makeitmopar.com for 108 but by the time you ad shipping it was the same price that my dealer wanted locally. For me just changing the radio was alot cheaper. When I upgrade to factory nav, I will get the ipod adapter.

there is really nothing to show. all that you are going to see is a cable that plugs into the ipod. the "brain" is behind the radio under the dash.

Does anyone know if there is an "Aux" or "Line-in" ability on the back of the stock 2004 Durango single CD AM/FM radio? I want to install Sirius but need to know if the existing radio is capable before I tear the dash apart.

negative, the only input for the back of the radio, is mopar's ipod adapter, which is not just an aux input

Anyone familiar with this adapter?

A lot cheaper than the mopar unit. Just trying to research some options.
