So MIL won't come on when you first turn the key on? Interesting. I'm gonna double check to make sure it does on my '94....just for a reference.

My engine light (MIL) does come on for about 2 seconds after start-up and then shuts off. If your MIL doesn't come on during this time, I'd say that either there is a ground problem, a power supply problem, or maybe the ECM is bad. A good way to check is to see if a code scanner will communicate with the ECM. Autozone or possibly Advance Auto Parts can connect a code scanner for you.

I have to check to see if my mil light comes on like yours, it does light up but I wasn't paying attention. I just got an Actron(?) scanner and sometimes it doesn't link up it only shows o/d and a/c codes. I was told if you have a bad pcm in some cases the scanner won't pick it up. I am going to get another pcm (any suggestions for a reasonably priced one?) and keep mine and fix it. I have all the equipment to do this. Thank you for your help..The pcm for these years only has one problem so if anyone has a problem with it don't change the cam and crank sensors, I can almost guarantee it is the 8v output to these sensors.(orange wire) so a pin can be stuck in the insulation and with a vod you can check the votage to ground. Mine pulls in the two relays at about 5.5v.

I don't recommend a used PCM, but I would try places like Autozone, Advance Auto Parts, NAPA, etc.
