This was one of the oldest Dodge trucks that I have personally seen.
For those that know-does the hood compartment open up like gull wing doors?

Yes they are hinged in the center and each side opens. My 40 Plymouth is the same way.

Hey guys! I have a neighbor a few blocks over that has a 1950's era vintage dodge P/U 1/2-ton for sale for $3800 or BO that looks like the red one shown above. If you would like details, I could drive over there, take down the info and snap a few pictures. The body looks in good to better shape. Everything looks original from what I can see. The color is plain basic beige.
If anyone would like the info, and the owner is home, what questions would you like answered? I really know nothing about these vintage old trucks. If I recall, it may even be a truck that is driveable.
I'm more of a van person myself.

OK, the truck sold for $2,600. The seller bought it from his brother who would have lost it in a divorce. The guy went out and started the truck. That little engine sure did purr nicely. Both he and I have no clue what engine or such is in this truck. The dad mentioned that Dodge sold many of these to farmers and the Army back when he was a boy.

For a little retro touch, it'd be sweet to find a set of those badges and add them to a newer ram (imo).
