Ok I was driving down the road tonight coming home from work and all of the sudden everything in the van shut off except the dome lights. When this happened all power steering was also lost. I was wondering if this could be the alternator or the belt. Also no Check Engine light came on to warn me about this either and I was able to start it back up and drive it home with no problems I pray to God this is only a one time problem!
Any help given is appreciated!

Did you have headlights on and they shut down too or was it just the engine?
If the engine shuts down, the power steering quits too.
I am wondering if it isn't an ASD(auto shut down) relay or a fuel pump relay(sometimes the same not sure here).
If it is a belt, you will see it off when you open the hood and look.

Yea the headlights were still working but the engine shut down and started back up fine and has been working great ever since. And it is doing fine now so I am guessing this is just a one time occurence.
We had the alternator and battery tested at Advanced and it was all good. So I am not to sure what exactly happened. The guy at Advanced said that maybe the belt tensioner might have lifted up or something like that also the belt looked intact.

When ASD relays go out, they cause intermittant stalling too.

Is there any way they can be checked because like I have said I have had no problems with it shutting off since the first time doing this?
