The best place to learn about performance "mods" for the 5.7 Hemi" is the 3rd Gen Ram Forums.

These guys have been "modding" this engine for several years now.

And yes, the Flashpaq IS the best mod for the money. It may not give significant "horsepower" gains on paper, but it will give HUGE "drivability" gains. Besides, if you install a cam with a higher redline you will need the Flashpaq to adjust the rev limiter and the 140 MPH speed limiter.

As for cams, the 6.1 cam will work with the on board PCU and is giving real horsepower gains for $140.00. The 6.1 cam and Flashpaq combined should have a 5.7 pushing over 400HP @ the flywheel.

Again search the 3rd Gen Ram forums.

I have the Flashpaq 3815 on my 2005 Power Wagon. It changes the entire acceleration characteristics. A Flashpaq will be the first "mod" on my Daytona.

Here are a couple of video clips showing what the Flashpaq 3815 did for a 6,000# Power Wagon with no additional mods other than a Fowmaster Super40 muffler and split rear duals.

you might want to research how the MDS works it is controled of the valve train. and i dont know if you can install a diffrent cam (unless its MDS specific) because you could possably do major engine damamge if it tryed to engauge the mds and the cam would not aloow it. i dont know for sure but you should look into it

You have to eliminate the MDS to run the 6.1 or any aftermarket cams. Some cams require custom computer work. Give me a call at the shop and I can help you. 1-866-470-HEMI
