Well found out today that we will be starting the production on the ram air hood for the magnum. We currently produce the hood for the SRT8 Charger. So we are about to start making the Magnum hoods in about two months. I don't sell them we make then for Chrysler. Just thought I would get the info out.

Good to know, how heavy are those hoods ?

Well I am just assuming, but since the Charger hood is all aluminum, I would guess we will be making these also from aluminum. They wiegh maybe 30 pounds!!

So how soon do those hoods get submitted for crash testing. And how well are they crated...in case one falls off the back of the truck.

The hard tooling is still in process, so your looking at probably 6 months before we see them in the public.

Neat--do you know if they went with similar scoop style?

yep, looks exactly the same.

Damn. Wish they'd scale the height down a bit. The LS1 Camaro SS nailed it, IMHO. Charger scoop seems too tall for a NACA duct.
Any other (news) scoops for us?? lol....

No not pertaining to the Magnums. We did get an "accidental" picture of the 2009 Dodge Ram. It is alot more squared off then the current Ram, they went back to the headlights like on the '02-'05 Rams, instead of the bug eyelook of the '06. And it has a taller, almost cowl induction looking hood. I am going to try and "sneak" the pic out and post it.

Wow, you mean DCX figured out that the '06 looks like a strangled frog, too? LOL...
Just don't get yourself canned...

Thanks for the reply. Will it be similar in appearance to the Charger SRT8 hood?

It will be exactly the same as the Charger hood, except about an inch or so wider.

Why would Chrysler put a hood into production for a car that won't be made anymore? Not like DC to market their own aftermarket items. Unless there's a 2007 Magnum coming available?
Either way, it'll probably run about $1200-1500 for the hood. Would look nice on my ride. Gotta start saving. :rck:

The hard tooling dies are almost complete, we are currently trying to make room for it. So it is coming soon. I would say that we would do a month or so of making parts before they start wanting any for dealer for repair work or sales!

The hoods are still in development. We have made draw stampings and it seems the project has bogged down from Chrysler because these stampings have been sitting so long they have collected alot of dust ;) They have begun cranking the Charger hood orders back up, but we have yet to hear if they are going to continue the Magnums!
