I took my truck through a big puddle last night, and now it dont run rite. It idles fine, but when i get on it, it stumble and wants to shut off, like its either getting too much gas or not enough, but i don't smell the strong gas smell. and when i finally get the truck going, it takes a loooooonnnng time for it to get up to speed, like im hauling a big trailer. Its a 2bbl. carb. and my 4wd wasnt working, the front driveshaft was turning, but the wheels wasn't turning, so i figured it was the hubs, so i had manual hubs put in, but that didn't help. somebody please help me. any suggestions would be helpful, thanks in advance

Yeah, check distributor for water, and any other major electrical connections too.
As for the 4WD, check to see if the hose is still conncted to the diaphram on top of the axle. Have a friend check for vacuum at the hose while you put it in 4WD.

Im going to lean towards the disributor cap being wet inside of it, as far as the 4wd I have no idea sorry

well, one of the spark plugs had a bent prong on the end, problem solved, as for the 4x4, i figured since i put in manual locking hubs, then it wouldn't need the vacuum line anymore for the hubs.

The vacuum diaphram actually connects the left and right axle shafts together in the middle of the axle housing. The locking hubs just disconnect the wheels from the axle shafts on the outside.

so what can i do besides replacing the vacuum line to get it to lock in?? Im just tired of the vacuum lines and want to replace it all. so what do i have to replace or change or modify so i can just lock the hubs and put it in 4wd and go?

Hey guys,
Do any of you know what this actually is/does? I'm sure it has something to do with spark plugs. Also, could anyone let me know how old it is, and if it is still in use today? Thanx much....R.V. :help:
