Series 63 K&N Cold Air Intake/Throttle Body Spacer

I talked with another member of another forum about his Charger. He said he put the Series 63 K&N Cold Air Intake and Throttle Body Spacer on his Charger and he is getting about 4 mpg more than when it was stock.

Anyone else have these mods and getting same performance? Plus, are these items you can put on yourself or should any mechanic be able to do these? Im not real sure or trustworthy I want "some" mechanic touching my car just yet.
