Another newbie-with a problem. 99GC sport 3.8 This rig has 160K on it and works well except for an engine dying problem. This occurs when driving along at highway speed with no warning, just dies. When over to the side it usually won't restart. It has power to all systems except starter- not even a click there. I've had it to the dealer and on the analysis with no joy. The usual statement is "bring ti back when it's acting up. Not too easy, but last weekend I did have it towed in and then again found nothing. It has also had this no start problem a couple of times after just being parked for a time. Now I'm getting to the desperation stage and would certainly welcome any input.

I would have to assume that one of the first things the dealer checked was the trouble codes. If it's not throwing a code, I would look at the battery circuit and the lead going down to the starter. These can rot out. Mine did, from the inside out. It looked fine from the surface.

As you surmised, failure codes were first place to look, but none showed up. Will check battery circuit leads tomorrow. Thanks for tip.
