One Touch Keyless Entry Possible on a 98??

Hey all - great site here!!

I have a good question -- I searched everywhere but couldn't find an answer.

Background: 1998 Dodge Caravan LE. It takes two presses of the keyless entry fob to unlock all the doors.

I'd like to hit the key fob only once instead of twice, but the owner's manual has no mention of being able to change the 'two press' to a single press option. Is there any way to reprogram something so I only have to hit the fob once instead of twice all the time? Can a newer fob be used, or can the computer be reprogrammed, or am I just SOL?

I do know that my parents 2002 caravan can be programmed to unlock either drivers door first or all doors on the first press, I did it using the DRBIII scan tool at the dealership where i work
but I am not sure if it can be programmed on the '96 - 2000 caravans
go see your dealer they should be able to tell you

That's funny - I was just thinking about this today when getting into my 84 Mustang GT 'vert. It has power locks but no remote, and I hate it! :D

Actually been thinking of getting an alarm system w/remote entry installed for about $200 at the local shop -- that cheap and much more convenient, so it's hard to pass.

My 96 keyless remote opens all doors just by holding the unlock button down for about 5 seconds. A quick press opens only the driver's door.
