i have a 93 with the trany slipping from 2 to 3 rd gear no 1st the OD does not work and i am looking for some causes to this i think i need a new trany and would like to know if the are other yr models that will inter change with mine. i think the motor is a 318 but might be a 383 i havent had the truck that long and havent had any motor probs yet. i have change the fluid and filter and found a ball bearing in the pan there was a lot of what seem tobe slug or metal shavings in the pan also any help would be great thats all...stretchman_1999 new to site ...looks to be a very helpful place :help:

well i would say with the shavings and things that it will definately need a tranny. i have found that if you are wanting a good tranny to go to jasperengines.com they have completely rebuilt trannies and they are just as cheap that it is to rebuil the one you have...good luck

Just so you know, a 93 would not have a 383 stock, it was either a 318 or a 360. just to let you know and im not trying to be a jerk or anything. Dan
