Believe, judging from their weight, they are ceramic packed, but not sure.
I was in from 1970-1990 with duty stations all over the place.

No reason to change thermostat, engine running same as it was temp-wise with stock exhaust.
Next week getting a Dynotune done on the Hemi before and after my Superchips gizmo arrives (supposedly)!
I will post results within this forum after the fact.

I'm pretty sure those flowmasters are the baffle type muffler..... No packing, just metal inside.

Fontman, does Superchips suggest a 180 degree thermostat as Jet Perf.chip does?I think the stock one is a 195 degree.

when I had the one for my ram it didn't say anything about changing the thermostat so I would say no.

I'm leaning to Zoomers, experieced flowmasters 50s on my 03 RAM HEMI so I know what their going to do, as I posted before "I'm all droned out".
I'm running a Stant 14269 - 195 thermostat, no problems. I also ran a 180 and 170 in my 03 RAM HEMI w/no problems, it actually ran better.
Many are running 180 and 170 thermostats and swear by them. I'm going to bump down to a 180 when the TX heat kicks in.
The thermostats are 2.5 inch wide 63mm. Here is a list if you want to shop around...
