I have an '87 Dakota that I dropped a motor from an '89 Dakota Sport into. worked out fine and runs great. But, a week or so ago the torque converter snapped the ends off where it meets the oil pump inside the bellhousing. It shaved off some of the splines on the outer shaft (around 1/4" on the pump side), I was wondering if I should get a new converter or replace the whole tranny. Did some checking and it will cost around $700 to rebuild and can get a re-manufactured one for $550, Converter is around $115-150. Thanks for any help I can get on this.
