new fuel pump sends gas to carburetor, but carb sends gas directly back to the gas tank. Plenty of good spark, great compression, but carb is dry.
Starts instantly when gas is poured directly down carburetor.
This is my baby... any help is appreciated.
The fuel solenoid checked out with a resistance of 57 ohms (specs are 48-60). The voltage was .01 with the key in the on position but there was no spec in the manual for what the voltage should be going to the fuel solenoid.

It's possible that the float(s) are stuck in the down position keeping the needle valve closed not allowing fuel to enter the bowl. Tap the side of the carb. with the handle of a screwdriver...see if that will free the float(s) up.

Well, it was the float & needle valve stuck in place. The float pin had come out & the float jammed in the "closed" position. New carb kit & float fixed the problem. My baby purrs like a kitten...

Thanks everyone for your advice !!!
