ok for some reason i can't figure this out on my own, I have a 318 rebuilt from the ground up, holley carb, elder intake, comp cam stock vacuam advance electronic distributor. Now its going into a truck that had a /6 that used that spark control computer. I want to ditch that and just run a basic vac adv carb set up with no electronics, with the exception of a msd igition. Now the problem is i can't figure out where i would get the spark signal for the msd box. the distrubutor has the 2 wires coming out of it but i am not sure how or what to hook them up to. on the /6 motor they plug into a connector on the pass side of the engine. What do I need on the new motor to make the box work with the vac adv electronic dis.

It should come with the msd then you use splices to connect it to the wires off the distributor. Therefore you don't have to cut the old connector off. It is fairly simple to install.

magnetic pick up connector ....do i have to buy that or from msd?The Magnetic pickup is in the Distributor already unless you have Points,it is standard in Electronic ignitions, You have to use a V-8 Distributor not the 6 cylnder one though but it sounds like you have a V-8 one in there;) . I have a Mopar Performance V-8 Electronic ignition with control module in the box for sale if you are intrested.
it has never been used, my father bought to put on a 360 (A engine) and never used it and it sat in the garage for many years.
