My new exhaust will consist of the Borla hearders I currenty have connecting to 3" Carsound cat with 3" single exhaust pipe. I'm wanting to get away from the flowmaster sounding mufflers, not to loud but not quiet.
Does anyone have information on which would be the best Dynomax muffler for my 5.9 Durango?
Super Turbo or the Ultra Flo's?
& what would be the best inlet & outlet or is it not that big of a deal.
Sorry for all the questions just dont want to waste money again.
Thanks WIll

Go with the Ultra-Flow. I've heard them on the 5.9 Magnum and they sound really mean. Mellow and quiet at idle and roars when you get on it.

Thanks for reply, have you noticed any lack of power in lower rpm's with the bullet muffler?

I gained power after putting the Dynomax bullet on. I used to have the Flowmaster muffler. The bullet has a straight thru design which has the best sound and flow, in my opinion. I was going to recommend the Bullet for you, but since you don't want it really loud, I'd go with the Ultra-Flo which is basically a toned down version of the Bullet.

My 98 dakota R/T came stock with the Ultra-Flo and it is a pretty quiet muffler. Sounds decent but still too quite for me. I would recomend the MBRP muffler, it is a straight through design and its sounds MEAN.

I have a round 30inch long, 2.5 in, 2.5 out DynoMax Stainless Steel UltraFlow muffler
pn 17298
that cost about $140.
this is one of the largest ultraflow models and has a completely 'straight thru' design that has no more backpressure than an open pipe. It is actually pretty quiet, just a bit lower rumble than stock.
Dynomax also makes this SS muffler in a 3 inch in/3 inch out model.
If you don't want to spend as much and don't need stainless, Walker is a brand of muffler that is used to replace the
restrictive stock one on Cummin powered Rams. Comes in
various sizes. NAPA carries it without the Walker name, but the same part number. It is aluminized.
My notes show a Walker 21468 as 3" X 3" and the 21471 is 4" X 4" and both are about $35 to $45 depending on the store.
Both Walker and Dynomax are owned by Tenneco Automotive.

Now thats a muffler!:D
Between the SS & welded UltraFlo muffler, which is the loudest?
I'm really looking to get away from the big block sounding exhaust & wanting to go with something more unique, instead of the old 2 chamber.
