replacing engine

Iam going to have the engine on my 73 w200 rebuilt this month . When i take to out will it be easier to take the trans out with it ? Does the tranmission just un bolt from a cross member ? It is a standard trans. Thanks for the help again .

It could probably be done either way that you want. The trans will definently unbolt from the cross member.
