Quick question. Does one check the ATF fluid with the engine running or off. The owners manual isn't clear and it makes about a quart difference. Thanks a bunch.

On all my mopar cars and trucks, the fluid is checked on a level surface when the transmission has been warmed up and the engine is running. Now on my Jeep (AWD) and Dodge transmissions (RWD), it says to put them in neutral and check the levels. On my Dodge (FWD-A604) transmission, it does not say to leave it in park or neutral, just to leave the engine running. I've checked it both ways and did not find a difference. Good job making sure to use ATF+3! :)
