The Check Brake light comes on on my 2000 Grand Caravan SE when I make a hard turn or really make a fast stop, then it goes right out. This morning it came on when I started the van, but went out by itself about after 5 mins of flat driving, but still flashed on doing a turn then went right out. Checked the fluid level and it's fine, set and released the parking brake and it's OK. Any ideas what it could be? (ABS light not on at all) Is this some kind of float level switch (like a gas tank sensor) that may be on the fritz?

There is a float in your brake fluid reservoir. I know you said you checked the fluid level, but is it up to the full line? If it is closer to the add mark, then when you go around a corner and the fluid sloshes around it will cause the light to come on.

Yeah, it's actually a little above the max line. Maybe there is another sensor in the master cylinder or brake booster that detects pressure and it is failing?

How are your brakes? Do you have a soft pedal or have to push it far? Does the brake light come on when cornering without touching the brakes?
If your brakes are good, then it might just be a problem with the float switch itself and not the brake system. You could test this by taking the cap off of the reservoir and using a screwdriver to move the float around. Have someone look at the brake light when you are moving the float. Just be careful not to slop the brake fluid out of the top, keep some rags handy.
There might be something more to this problem than what I understand. Good luck.
