Vehicle wouldn't start today... it's been cold, and I suspect the seat-back DVD player might have been left in 'pause' mode, while plugged into the 'always on' cig.power jack on the console.....

Hooked up the booster pack to positive and frame, van started just fine. Tonight, I noticed that even though status lights (usual status bulbs while starting the vehicle) worked, speedometer, fuel gauge etc aren't illuminated.

All other electrical works in the vehicle. Lights, locks, blowers, wipers, radio, lock illumination, overhead trip computer, signals, windows.

I checked the Haynes book for indication of which fuse might be responsible, but it seems to be controlled through the BCM. All mini fuses seem to check out (unless I missed one).

Is it possible that I've lost all the bulbs for nighttime driving (Am I correct in assuming there would be at least 2 if not 3 (speed, fuel, rpms) ?

Any advise would be appreciated. Have found the details on how to get to the panel, but it's -18 right now outside, and I'd like to be sure before getting into it :)

Thanks in advance,
Greg.

Go under the hood and pull the IOD fuse for a minute and reinsert . The BCM gets confused under low voltage situations and sometimes need to be reset .

Where did you find the details on how to get into the panel for the lights? I have a dark right side of the instrument cluster and need to change some bulbs.
Thanks

I picked up a Haynes manual from Canadian Tire. Believe it was section 11, which describes taking off the side panel (snaps ?) left of the dashboard. Seem to remember there also being something involved with the steering column cover.

Good luck.
Greg

Vipergg: Thanks for the tip ! 60 second IOD fuse pull and reseat did the trick :rck:

Much better than pulling the dash/instrument panel to find out the bulbs weren't blown :)

Again, many thanks.

Greg.
