Now in the past almost 2 years I have owned my 2005 GC SXT, the door locks all of a sudden quit working. They don't work with auto lock, switch on door, or key fob. The first time was when I purchaced the van just 2 weeks later. The dealer clear the code and all was fine until now (1 year 9 months). I just got back from the dealer, they cleared the code again (in less than 40 minutes in and out). They said if it happens again they will need to replace the BCM. Does anyone know what the problem is? The scan tool said it was "Right Door Output Failure" :huh: Thats what it said before also. Please someone know if this has happened to you and the outcome of the situation. Maybe there is a way to reset your self. Everything else works in the van except the locks.

right now I am having the same trouble. the dealer thinks it is the alarm so
they are having me get the after market alarm removed.
I have a 2005 GC EXT. I have had it now for over a year, first time this happen. now i know im not the only one.

I don't have an aftermarket alarm, just the stock one. I also worked on a Caravan at my shop where the battery died, then after jumpstart I noticed the same problem. There has to be others with this problem and solution. I don't think the problem is your alarm.

I don't think its the alarm either, but I have to go by what the dealer says.
what code did it say when this happen to you?

I did not pay attention to the code #, but the computer read "Right Door Output Failure". I was with the tech when he cleared the code again. After the code is clear all is well again. The last time was almost 2 years ago. Did you leave the van with them? I'm still driving mine until it happens again. Or just go back and clear the code again. :)

It's been a big headache. It started 12-05-05, I took it to the dealer.
they said the alarm is causing a short. so I had the brain of the alarm removed. then when I took it to the dealer on Monday 12-12 they said I need to have the whole alarm removed (motion sensor,etc.). tomarrow I'm having the alarm removed, then I can find out what the dealer says the problem is.

How long has the alarm been installed be fore the problems came about? Like I said with mine, asimple clearing of the code was fine for a long time. Matbe they are giving you a runaround.

the alarm has been in it since day one. I told the dealer how can it be the alarm after so much time and since the brain is removed. they are just trying to narrow down the problem. If theres no alarm then it's the car. I will update tomarrow after I drop off the van to the dealer. thanks for your info.

well today I took the van to the dealer after getting the alarm removed.
the dealer is gonna replace the BCM. I hope this solves the problem.

I don't think it can be replaced by you, needs reprogramed from dodge. Just have them clear the code in the BCM and it might be fine for a while like mine.

If your van is a 05, it should be covered under the warranty.

Happy New Year to all. today 1-03-06 I took the van back to the dealer for the same reason. they replaced the BCM on 12-23-05, the problem started again on 12-28-05.today they are saying the code says failure in the left door.
they think theres a short some where. hopefully they find the problem.

Any update on your problem? I finally turned off my autolock feature just to stop the amount of times the locks have to lock and unlock.

The van was ready on 1-06-06, they replaced the door switch. 1-07 the problem happen again. took the van back on 1-09, they had it till 1-13. they had a electrical specialist check it out this time. he found that the wire harness going into the door had some wires stripped, so they fixed that. the same problem started again on 1-16 so I took it back on 1-18. now the dealer says there going to replace that wire harness. as far as I know so far they've replaced just about everything electrical in the driver door.this is the 4th time in the last month it has been to the dealer for the same reason. the van should be ready by 1-23.

update. the 4th time I took the van in was on 1-18. they had the van till 1-25. everything electrical in the driver door has been replaced, including the wire harness going into the door. the same day I picked up the van the problem starts again. now I contacted a lemon law layer, and I plan to take the van to the dealer to make it 5 time in the last 40 days. that way they cant say I'm not giving them a chance. I will update as soon as I have more info.
