Hey thank you guys for helpin me decide on my first mods, I threw on the dual flowmasters, the k&n fipk 2, and the 180 stat, and im just wondering what you guys put on at this point? I know there are a lot of options and i see things like a new tb, headers, the mopar pcm, etc, but there are other things like the manifolds, heads, and ignitions that i dont realy know much about. basically im just wonderin what everyone else did and what they suggest in terms of what they recieved. Damn this was a long post..

A TB would be the best bang for your buck, it was one of the last things I did and it should have been the first! A very nice mod, I used the Fastman and am very happy to say the least. The F&B units are also very good I hear, just too expensive for my wallet. Rearend gears are also the best bang for your buck, nothing gets it moving like a low set of gears.

I agree...you just about have the basics covered and a Fastman (http://thefastman.com) TB is the logical next step for ya! ;)

Thanks, the fastman looks like the idea, but when you said to get lower gears, what does this do? I see posts saying 4.10 and 3.92 gears and am just wonderin how someone would change the gears and what it does, thanks

A lower set of rearend gears (higher numerically) Will greatly improve your acceleration, while hurting (a little bit) your top speed HP, but since were not on a race track going as fast as the motors HP will allow, this should'nt be a problem. Think of it as more leaverage for your engine to spin your rear wheels. Higher the number, quicker the acceleration. 3.55s are usually stock, 3.92s are Dodge's upgrade but alot of guys go with 4.10s. Also when you go with lower gears your engine will cruise at a higher RPM for any given speed resulting in a little worse MPG and more wear to the engine over it's life. But hey, it's all about speed.....RIGHT?

Hope this helps

Headers, 52mm TB, MI 2bbrl then PCM in that order.
Then rockers, cam, heads, ignition and the like.
Just my 5.9cents worth

Supercharger, then you don't have to do all the nickel and dime mods that wind up costing you more time and money then if you just do the best mod of all... people will argue that all the other suff compliments a S/C, i agree but you don't need itto put a blower on. a 6-8 psi blower will give you more seat of the pants power that you feel instead of 5 hp that you need to dyno a truck to see if you actually got it... there are economical kits out there... anybody who tells you a S/C is not worth it, has not driven a forced induction vehicle, or can't add up all the cold air kits, intakes, headers, cat backs, pcms and TB's that they bought and spent time installing or paid someone to install. a $325 TB that yields 5-10 hp is not a very good mod in my opinion, you can barley feel 5-10 HP, you would feel more acceleration from the 200 pound difference from a full tank to a near empty tank of gas then you would from a new TB... food for thought...

If you have an rt you already have 392 gears

SC...now were talk'n....kick it up a notch :tup::tup::D

Blown5.9L, when ya get that Paxton installed, don't forget to post some pics and a review for us (lucky dawg)

I think that completing the basics of Intake, TB and exhaust all would compliment the SC and should not be overlooked though...its just a giant air pump...open it up and let 'er breath...just depends on how far (or better yet how fast :)) ya want to go :D

A SC is a great mod. The "nickle and dime" mods will inhance the SC IMHO. You could just get the SC and bolt it on w/o any other mods (i would suggest upgrading the ignition and get thePCM at least) but you would get more out of your investment with the other mods.
SC forces the air in....TB, MI, Headers, high flow cat and muffy help get it out.
Just my 5.9 cents.

Lets not forget the juice :)

Never ran it myself, but from a pure bang for the buck mod, I don't think much compares to NOS as long as its done moderately (I'm no expert on it though :D)...

Just though I'd throw it out for discussion...

I have heard a lot of good things about a bigger throttle body, but are there any down sides to getting a new one? (e.i.- gas mileage, longevity, trailering)
