I have a 89 B350 Ram van with the heavy duty 360 motor, I need to know the torque specs for the intake gasket bolts. I have a book but I see the specs say 45 ft lbs for a carb intake. I already have torqued them to 45 ft lbs and just realized that it is not for the Fuel injected spec.

What is the correct spec for the fuel injected 89 360? Thanks for your help

you sure that's not in/lbs.? There is a big difference and 45 ft./lbs. seems like an aweful lot of torque for that.

Yes it is ft lbs, I thought it was high also. That is why I wanted to know if it was correct. I have already torqued them down so all I can do now is maybe back them off a little if it was too much assuming I haven't damaged any of the threads?

I have an older small block book (How to rebuild your small block Mopar) that says use 35 ft lbs. I think I might have to go to the library and get the specs.

I'm sure it's either 35, or 45. I've always torqued mine to 45.

I went to the Library and the Mitchell book said torque the the four bolts on either side of the TB to 25 ft lbs, then tourqe the rest to 25. Then torque the four near the TB to 40 ft lbs then torque the others to 45 ft lbs. That is weird I have never heard of intake bolts having a different torque on the intake manifold.

I then looked in a Haynes manuel and it said to torque all the bolts to the same torque 45 ft lbs.

I think that I will just leave them at 45 ft lbs. Thanks for the help you were right, some are 35 and some are 45.
