I just picked-up my 06 R/T and the only bummer are some black swirl marks on the hood. The dealer said they can buff them out. Does anyone have some insight into the reality of getting them out? If they can't, I'd like to get a new hood. They tried to do a quick hand wax to remove them and now it looks worse.... Thank you.

Depends on the severity of the swirls..
The swirls are only in the clearcoat and should be buff-able with a polisher..
But like I said depends on the severity of the swirls to determine which buffing compound to use..

This is just my personal opinion but after seeing the results I am totally sold. A buddy of mine with a 2000 T/A just had his car detailed by the local Tropic-Care rep and he used a Porter Cable buffer and a product called swirl cutter. His car was pretty bad before they started and when they were done it was just flat out amazing looking. I was sold on the spot.

I feel better knowing they can be removed. The swirls are definitely in the clear coat. One of the negatives to owning black but when its clean its sharp!
